Circus Tryouts: Tryouts for the Vuelta La Luna Variety Circus will be held 2 to 5 p.m. May 26 at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center 4408 Delridge Way SW, Seattle. Tryouts are open to all ages. There’s opening for five people to be part of the family-friendly circus, which has scheduled 11 performances July 19-22 at Snohomish’s Kla Ha Ya Days Festival at Harvey Field.

Family Pinewood Derby Day: The first annual Family Pinewood Derby Day car races is scheduled to begin with check ins at 11 a.m. June 2 at the Monroe Community Center, 276 Sky River Parkway, Monroe. Races begin at noon. Registration, which is required, is $10, or just come watch for free. Car kits are available at the local Ben Franklin Crafts and Frame Shop, 19505 U.S. 2, Monroe, or on Amazon. SnoHomo Pride Festival: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 3, Willis Tucker Park, 6705 Puget Park Drive, Snohomish. This family-friendly event, called “Honoring Diversity,” will feature DJ music, food trucks, improv comedy, face painting, community booths, vendors, guest speakers and a youth water playground. Contribute to time capsule: The Everett Public Library invites people of all ages to contribute to a time capsule celebrating Everett’s 125th anniversary. Send a message 50 years into the future by sharing a story, poem, or drawing that describes your favorite place in Everett or what you think Everett will be like in the future. Tall Ships at Port of Everett: Climb aboard the Lady Washington or the Hawaiian Chieftain May 25-30, at south guest dock 1. Your next adventure can be a weekend sail, hands-on history for kids, or starting your maritime career. More at www.historicalseaport.org.

Tankfest Northwest: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 26 at Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum, 3407 109th St. SW, Everett; www.flyingheritage.com. Free parking and shuttle service at 9819 Airport Road, Everett. Tanks, military vehicles and artillery weapons with driving and firing demonstrations of tanks and artillery, remote control tanks, scavenger hunt, face painting, bouncy house, tug-o-war, educational speaker and food trucks.

125th Anniversary Celebration: The city of Everett is sponsoring a free family-friendly event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 2 at Everett Transit Station, 3201 Smith Ave. in celebration of the city’s 125th anniversary. The city is partnering with the YMCA, the Port of Everett, Tulalip Tribes, Imagine Children’s Museum and the Everett Museum of History for the event, which will include activity booths, touch-a-truck, games, music, food, historical bus tours and walking tours.

Splish Splash Summer Bash: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 27, Comeford Park, 514 Delta Ave., Marysville. Head to Comeford Park for a day of fun in the sun as you splish splash in the spray park. Imagine Children’s Museum: Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. Paine Field: The Snohomish County Airport is home to several aviation attractions, including the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum, Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour, Historic Flight Foundation and the Museum of Flight Restoration Center. MOHAI: The Museum of History & Industry is at 860 Terry Ave., at the south end of Lake Union, Seattle. The It’s Raining Cats and Dogs exhibit, which runs through May 31, takes a closer look at the history of Puget Sound through the stories of cats and dogs. More information is available at mohai.org.

Outback Kangaroo Farm: 10030 Highway 530, east of Arlington. Take a tour of the farm to see kangaroos, alpacas, flying squirrels, peacocks, wallaroos and more.

Seattle Aquarium: Deaf Community Day is May 19 at the aquarium, 1483 Alaskan Way, open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. High Trek Adventures: An aerial ropes course and zip lines at Paine Field Community Park, 11928 Beverly Park Road, Everett. Three levels of difficulty with 60 different obstacles. Longest zip line travels 250 feet. For ages 4 and up. More at www.high trekeverett.com.

Whale watching: Island Adventures three-hour tours depart from Everett through May. Tickets are $69 for adults and $49 for children. Discounts are available for seniors, military and students.
