WAYS TO HELP
Volunteers needed for annual count
Officials are asking for help with this year’s Point-in-Time Count in Snohomish County. Volunteers can sign up for shifts between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Jan. 23. The count takes a snapshot of how many people in the area are homeless on one day in January each year. Participants will receive training.

Wedding show
Meet with planners, florists, photographers and more from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the wedding show in the Marysville Opera House, 1225 Third St. The historic building itself could be a potential wedding venue. Admission is free.

Live orchestra music
The Pacific Chamber Orchestra plays its first concert of the new year at 3 p.m. on Jan. 27 at the Everett First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave. Musicians will play scores by modern composers.

Medieval fair
Learn about the Middle Ages at the 37th annual Ursulmas Medieval Faire from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Jan. 26 and 27, at the Evergreen Fairgrounds, 14405 179th Ave. SE.
Participate in archery, watch armored knights go to battle and grab a bite to eat. Children’s tickets are free while adults pay $10.

Send a Valentine’s Day card
Join Everett greeting card designer Cat Snapp from 1 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 9 at Toggle’s Bottle Shop, 1420 Hewitt Ave. Snapp will bring a selection of cards and stamps for folks to purchase. Materials to write a Valentine’s Day note will be provided. This free event is open to people who are 21 and older.

Orchestra fundraiser at Kamiak
Enjoy an evening of ballroom dancing at the Kamiak Orchestra Knight in Vienna Ball from 7 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 26 at Kamiak High School. The dance is a fundraiser for the orchestra and is for all ages. Tickets range from $10 to $15 and include a short lesson in ballroom dancing. There will be gift baskets up for raffle, a photo booth and concessions for purchase.
