Pianos on Main Street back for the summer
Three pianos hit the streets of Mill Creek this week. They were donated by Mill Creek residents and transformed by local high school art students. Visitors are invited to use the instruments.
Piano locations include: 15163 and 15217 Main St., underneath the covered bridge next to FROST; 15418 Main St. at the bus stop across from Cold Stone Creamery; 15605 Main St. at Central Market. A fourth piano will later be installed in front of QFC, 926 164th St. SE.

Growing older
Come laugh, cry, make friends and connect with others as we adapt to the limitations that aging brings during a conversation from 10 a.m. to noon today at the Freeland Library, 5495 Harbor Ave., on Whidbey Island. Everyone is welcome to the conversation led by Nicole Donovan, aging and disability resource manager for Island Senior Resources.

Walk and learn
Take a walk among the new heritage trees in Monroe with the Monroe Historical Society’s Heritage Tree Walk. The tour on July 14 will jaunt past the most recent trees to be nominated by residents and selected by the Monroe Parks Department earlier this year as heritage trees.
This free event is both family and dog friendly. It will start at the Monroe Historic Museum, 207 E. Main St. Two tours will be offered with start times at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Earth shattering in Edmonds
The ceremonial groundbreaking of the Edmonds Waterfront Center, 220 Railroad Ave., will start at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The free event, open to the public, will include refreshments and free parking. Carpooling is encouraged and attendees are asked to park in the lot located at Railroad Avenue and Dayton Street.

Kids learn to knit
Camp Stitch-a-Lot is coming to Mukilteo and Marysville. The summer sewing classes for elementary, middle and high school students begin Monday.
Snohomish County Clothing and Textiles Advisors host camps from July 8-12 and from Aug. 5-9 at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., in Mukilteo.
Other camps are July 15-19 and July 22-26 at Jennings Park, 6915 Armar Road., in Marysville.
