AquaSox swept by Hops as losing skid hits 6

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Seattle Mariners’ second-round pick Brandon Williamson allowed the first two runs of his professional career in his fifth start and the Everett AquaSox’s losing streak reached six games with a 5-3 loss to the Hillsboro Hops on Thursday. 

Williamson pitched 1.2 innings and allowed two runs on two hits. He struck out three and walked one.

Everett rallied to take the lead in the fifth inning on an RBI single from Carter Bins, an RBI double from Robert Perez and a sacrifice fly by DeAires Moses.

But the Hops took the lead back with a three-run seventh inning and held on for the win. The Hops swept the four-game series.

Brayan Perez allowed seven hits and three runs to take the loss in relief for Everett (21-27, 3-7 second half). Marcos Tineo got the win in relief for Hillsboro (31-17, 7-3).

The Everett offense managed just four hits for the second straight game.
