Fiber fest
Fiber Fusion Northwest is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, 14405 179th Ave. SE, Monroe. Features a live fiber animal exhibit, a fiber arts show, a spin-in event, free demonstrations, classes, fleece show and sale.

Mushroom fest
Discover the fungus among us. The Snohomish County Mycological Society annual wild mushroom show is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Floral Hall in Forest Park, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. Mushroom displays, kits, books and videos. Learn to distinguish more than 100 different species of wild mushrooms. Bring your own mushroom samples for identification. Free, with donations accepted.

Pumpkin fest
Snohomish Valley Festival of Pumpkins with activities at places in the Snohomish Valley — Bailey’s, Bob’s, Carleton’s, Craven’s, Stocker’s, Swan’s Trail and Thomas — include pumpkin patches, corn mazes, zombie paintball, dark mazes, hay rides, a haunted house and bonfires. Through Oct. 31.

Bike repair classes
The nonprofit Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop plans to host its Roadside Repairs Class on Nov. 13.
Each one-night class is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. It costs $25. Space is limited to six spots per class.
The shop promises the lessons will make you a better volunteer, safer rider and a happier person. Upon completion, students should be able to fix a flat tire and make minor adjustments to their own bike using proper tools. Bring your own bike or use one from Sharing Wheels.
Work parties to provide used bicycles for the Christmas House charity run Thursdays at Sharing Wheels, from 6 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 12.

Dining Downton style
Food historian Tames Alan demystifies the manners, menu, and accoutrements of a formal 12-course dinner as would have been eaten upstairs at Downton Abbey before the outbreak of World War I, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Everett Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
Could you have survived a “trial by fork” sans faux pas? “Dining at Downton” explores mealtimes at Downton Abbey. “Downton Abbey” the movie is imminent, and many of us have questions about subtler points of the Crawley family’s life on their Yorkshire estate. Much of the plot for “Downton Abbey” revolves around the dinner table. Explore the final years of a time when one changed into dinner clothes and chose jewelry to reflect candlelight, where setting the table and serving a meal was an art. Any dinner at Downton Abbey is a well-choreographed dance performed with military precision. Everyone from the hostess and guests to the butler and kitchen maid, knew the parts they had to play.
