Pedestrian identified after being hit, killed on Highway 99

LYNNWOOD — A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car Sunday on Highway 99 has been identified.

Around 6 a.m., Kaitlin Wester, 29, was walking south in the left lane of Highway 99 at Shelby Road when she was struck by an Everett woman, 45, traveling south in a Mazda CX-5 on Highway 99, authorities said.

Wester died at the scene. On Wednesday, the Washington State Patrol publicly identified the Lynnwood woman.

The Mazda driver was not injured. The crash remained under investigation Wednesday.
