EVERETT — Washington-based entertainment company Maverick Gaming will close two of its Snohomish County casinos next month, resulting in more than 100 layoffs.

This comes after Maverick Gaming, which operates cardrooms and casinos across multiple states, filed last year for Chapter 11 protection under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, according to the regional company’s press release. Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code typically provides for the reorganization of a company.

On May 27, Maverick Washington LLC notified the state’s Employment Security Department that on July 31 it will permanently close Crazy Moose Casino Mountlake Terrace and Silver Dollar Casino Mill Creek, according to filings in the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) layoff and closure database.

Maverick Gaming did not respond to The Daily Herald’s request for comment Wednesday.

In the filings, the company stated it initially planned to close both locations on Dec. 2, 2025, but did not due to ongoing bankruptcy proceedings, which entailed negotiations with a potential buyer for the sites.

At the Crazy Moose Casino, located at 22003 66th Ave. W in Mountlake Terrace, the closure impacts approximately 82 employees.

At the Silver Dollar Casino, located at 17917 Bothell Everett Hwy in Bothell, the closure impacts approximately 41 employees.

Maverick Gaming operates 24 Washington locations, including the locations closing this year, and owns several casino hotels in Nevada and Colorado, according to the company’s website.
