EVERETT — Albertsons is planning to close its store at 6727 Evergreen Way in Everett by April 7.
The grocer makes continuous evaluations of the operations and performances of its stores to ensure a stronger overall business, said Sara Osborne, a company spokeswoman.
“Making the difficult decision to close this store will give us the opportunity to reinvest in our existing store base and build a stronger store network,” she said in an email.
There is only one other Albertsons in the city of Everett; that store is located at 520 128th St. SW. The company has five other Albertsons stores in Snohomish County.
She said that the company is working to place employees at nearby stores “consistent with applicable law and/or labor agreements.”
Albertsons merged with Safeway in 2015. The combined company later acquired nearly 30 Haggen stores in Washington and Oregon.
