Boeing 787 maintenance program grows

The Boeing Co. named Air Cruisers, Honeywell and Thales as partners for GoldCare, a maintenance support program for the 787 Dreamliner. GoldCare assists airlines offer lower fares. Under GoldCare, Boeing leads and integrates a global team to deliver maintenance, engineering and materials management tasks at a predictable cost. Each of the new GoldCare partners will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the spare parts they provide for 787.

Prime Pacific hits record profits

Lynnwood-based Prime Pacific Financial Services, the holding company for Prime Pacific Bank, reported record third-quarter earnings. The bank reported net earnings of $323,000, a 76 percent increase over the $184,000 earned during the same period last year. Earnings per share rose from 16 cents a year ago to 26 cents for the recent quarter. That’s after a 3 percent stock dividend in June. The bank reported assets of $109 million, an increase of 35 percent.

Google stock climbs above $500

Google Inc.’s stock price surpassed $500 for the first time Tuesday, marking another milestone in a rapid rise that has catapulted the Internet search leader into the corporate elite. Continuing a recent surge driven by Wall Street’s high expectations for the company, Google’s shares rose $14.60, or nearly 3 percent, to close at $509.65 on the Nasdaq Stock Market.

Dell beat forecasts, or maybe not

Dell Inc. beat analysts’ expectations in delayed earnings posted Tuesday, but the computer maker warned the results were preliminary and could change because of an intensifying federal investigation into the company’s accounting and financial reporting. For the quarter ended Nov. 3, Dell earned $677 million, or 30 cents per share, on sales of $14.4 billion. That compared with earnings of $606 million, or 25 cents per share, in the third quarter of last year, which was hurt by $442 million in charges Dell took to repair a faulty computer component and costs related to restructuring.

Nike cancels orders over labor violations

Nike Inc.’s decision to cancel orders from a Pakistan-based producer of hand-stitched soccer balls because of labor violations could cost the supplier more than 4,000 jobs, its general manager said Tuesday. Saga Sports, which employs 8,000 to 9,000 people, exported products valued at $33 million last year, said the company’s general manager, Rizwan Dar.

Eye care firm recalls lens solution

Eye care products maker Advanced Medical Optics Inc. is recalling U.S. batches of its Complete MoisturePlus multipurpose contact lens solution and Active Packs after finding bacterial contamination in three lots made at the same plant in China and distributed in Japan. The Santa Ana, Calif.-based company said it has not received any reports of adverse health events associated with the 18 recalled product lots in the United States.
