Mukilteo’s Energy Solutions service techs get certifications

Bel Red Energy Solutions of Mukilteo had two service technicians become EPA certified for using residential heating/cooling service techniques that help preserve the environment. Ramon Rivera Vigo and Jason “Jayce” Molina both passed the EPA certification test administered by HVAC Business and Technical Institute in Kent. The EPA test covers proper refrigerant handling, management and environmental safety rules.

State: Sales tax revenue up 7.3 percent

According to the Washington State Department of Revenue’s quarterly report for the third quarter of 2014, the state’s taxable retail sales increased to $33.25 billion, up by 7.3 percent over the same period in 2013. This was the first quarter that marijuana sales, authorized by Initiative 502, were included in taxable retail sales.

Foggy Noggin releases new winter seasonal beer

Foggy Noggin Brewing released its winter seasonal beer on Feb. 21 at the tasting room. The chosen beer was Diablo del Sol, an English pale ale. That particular brew won Northwest Brewing News’s Reader’s Choice Award for Best Pale Ale in 2014. The beer will be available for the next six to eight weeks.
