Primerica to open in Marysville

The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce invites the public to the opening and ribbon cutting for insurance and financial services Primerica at 1:30 p.m. on March 3 at 1029 Cedar Ave., Marysville. Marysville Mayor Jon Nehring will perform the ribbon cutting and light refreshments will be provided. Businesses and entrepreneurs are encouraged to bring business cards for networking.

April Fools Shipwreck Ball and Auction planned

The public is invited to attend the April Fools Shipwreck Ball and Auction, a benefit for victims of domestic violence. The event features dinner, music, dance and both live and silent auctions. Enrollment for the March 2016 session at Columbia College — NS Everett/Marysville is now open. The session is set to begin on March 21, but students can register through March 23 for online classes and March 25 for in-seat classes. State Labor agency offers safety-health grants

A new round of safety and health grants are now available through the Department of Labor &Industries’ Safety and Health Investment Projects program. Applications will be accepted until April 22. New website on prescription drugs aims to help families

A recent survey has reported that nearly one in five seniors have experienced difficulties in keeping track of their medications. To help with these concerns, Snohomish County’s Home Instead has launched a new public education program called Let’s Talk about Rx at www.LetsTalkAboutRx.com. It offers families free printouts and resources, tips and insight into potential medication pitfalls facing seniors.

Snohomish County exec meets with Japanese business leaders

On Feb. 10, Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers met with a delegation of business leaders from Japan examining potential investments in Snohomish County. After the meeting with Somers, the delegation visited three sites in the county, looking at the feasibility and logistics of bringing business to the region.
