Aardvarks Utd: The high-energy band will play everything from danceable rock to alternative funk grooves 5:30 p.m. April 19 at the Marysville Opera House, 1225 Third St., Marysville. Call 360-363-8400. More at www.marysvillewa.gov.

North Cascades Concert Band: The band will perform 7:30 p.m. April 21 at Arlington High School, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd., Arlington. Cecilia Buettgen, a French horn player with the United States Marine Band, is the featured soloist. She will solo in Richard Strauss’s “Horn Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major,” “Blue Skies” by Irving Berlin and “Eternal Father Strong to Save” by Claude Smith. The band will also play music by Aaron Copland, Robert Jager and Benny Goodman. The event is free, but donations are accepted.

Randy Haines: The Snohomish guitarist is playing traditional and classical guitar by Albeniz, Villa-Lobos and Tarrega at a free concert 2 p.m. April 21 at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Call 425-257-8000.

Sno-King Community Chorale: A special benefit performance featuring jazz musicians Sara Gazarek and Josh Nelson is at 7 p.m. April 22 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra: The orchestra will perform Duke Ellington’s “Such Sweet Thunder Suite” at 7:30 p.m. April 23 at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 401 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. Ellington composed the suite as his tribute to Shakespeare. The orchestra teams up with local actors to pair this special suite of works with selections from the plays and sonnets that inspired Ellington to create it. Tickets are $35 standard, $33 for seniors and $10 youth. More at www.srjo.org.

Los Lonely Boys: The American Chicano rock power trio from San Angelo, Texas, is playing “Texican Rock n’ Roll” at 7 p.m. April 27 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. Tickets start at $50. More at www.historiceveretttheatre.org.

Las Cafeteras: The Los Angeles-based band is playing everything from rock to hip-hop — in English, Spanish and Spanglish — at 7:30 p.m. April 27 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. The band uses traditional son jarocho instruments such as the jarana, requinto, quijada and tarima. Tickets start at $15. More at www.ec4arts.org.

The Legend of Pop: Iranian singer Aref Arefkia will perform 9 p.m. May 5 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. The pop music singer and actor from Tehran goes solely by Aref. He is known as “the legend of pop” in Iran. Tickets range from $50 to $80. More at www.ec4arts.org.

Mystical Arts of Tibet: Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery, promoting world peace, will engage in a five-day residence from May 8-12 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. Program includes performing and visual arts by monk artists who have practiced the ancient and sacred traditions as a way of life. There also will be chanting, music and dance.

Northwest Junior Pipe Band: Young pipers and drummers in the Northwest Junior Pipe Band are performing a Celtic celebration at 7 p.m. May 12 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. The competition band and pipe band school teaches Scottish bagpipes and drums to Puget Sound area youths ages 8-18. Tickets are $25. More at www.nwjpb.org.

Geoffrey Castle with Nick Mardon: Geoffrey Castle, an electric violinist, and Nick Mardon, a 17-year-old guitarist, will share the stage starting at 8 p.m. May 12 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. Castle and Mardon, who are both from the Pacific Northwest, will be accompanied by their own bands. Tickets from $14. More at www.historiceveretttheatre.org.

Pure Desmond: The special tribute concert by the Acoustic Jazztet 7:30 p.m. May 12 will feature cool jazz saxophonist Paul Desmond at the Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater, 1211 Fourth St., Snohomish. Also in the jazztet are Brent Jensen (alto sax), Jamie Findlay (guitar) and Steve Tate (percussion). More at www.thumbnailtheater.org.

New York Voices: The jazz vocal group will perform at 7:30 p.m. May 19 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. The performance is translated for deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons. Tickets start at $19. More at www.ec4arts.org.

Heart by Heart: The Heart tribute band is playing at 8 p.m. May 19 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. The band includes original Heart members Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll of Fame in 2013. Tickets start at $15. More at www.heartbyheart.com.

American Fingerstyle Guitar: Acoustic guitarists Tracy Moore, Peter Janson and Steve Davison will play six- and 12-string guitars at 7:30 p.m. May 19 at the Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater, 1211 Fourth St., Snohomish. American Fingerstyle Guitar tours nationally and draws on blues, jazz, folk, Celtic and classical music. More at www.thumbnailtheater.org.

William Skeen: The San Francisco-based musician will play the bass viola de gamba alongside harpsichordist Henry Lebedinsky at 7:30 p.m. May 20 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2301 Hoyt Avenue, Everett. Program includes works by Bach, Marais and Forqueray. There also will be a free tasting of six California boutique wines. Admission is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors; free for ages 18 and under. Blood, Sweat and Tears with Bo Bice: The jazz-rock band will play at 7 p.m. May 26 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. Formed in 1967, the band is known for its combination of brass and rock instruments. Since 2103, the Blood, Sweat and Tears has been fronted by Bo Bice of “American Idol” fame. Tickets start at $48.
