Henry Rollins is launching another speaking tour, this one titled “Recountdown.” Get it?
Apparently, the title has “multiple layers of meaning,” according to promoter Live Nation. I see two, personally, but I reckon two is a multiple.
Rollins will be ranting about politics “with an eye to the future and a disapproving nod to the past,” Live Nation says. Intriguing. Tell us more, Mr. Rollins!
“Hoping that the bad times are almost over, I am taking advantage of the current situation to spend the last few nights of the catastrophic Bush Administration onstage,” he said. “Things will be so different after he’s gone. For me, the new century will have finally arrived. Since I was last in the cities that I will be visiting on this tour, I have been fairly far and wide and have a lot of new stories to tell. I look forward to spending autumn in my favorite country.”
OK then! I wonder what “fairly far and wide” means. Is that like Philly to NYC, or Belfast to Burma? (Apparently it’s the latter.) And what of this “current situation” he’s taking advantage of? Is that the financial crisis? The 2008 election? Or just the fact he’s booked a speaking tour? It’s all very mysterious to me.
Anyway, presale tickets for Recountdown go one sale Thursday. See below for more info on that and other shows.
