Dickering with the Tooth Fairy

Jeff is a former reporter for the Herald and proud papa of two boys. Jeff recently sent me an email about the oldest boy, Alex, and the Tooth Fairy that made me break out in a toothy grin. Here’s what Jeff sent:

“I’m holding a tooth-concealing envelope with a note to the Tooth Fairy that says ‘Can I have A 800$. Please rit bak.’

I had told Alex that if he got $800, then the Tooth Fairy might not have enough money for the other kids’ teeth. With a shrug, he said ‘That’s her choice.’

The Tooth Fairy wrote back: ‘Hi Alex. Nice tooth you lost! Kid teeth are only $2 … Whales get $800 for their teeth. Keep on wiggling those teeth! (heart) the Toothfairy.’
