Go fish: Kids can participate in a fishing derby Saturday at Washington’s newest state park.
Children ages 15 years and younger are invited to the First Annual Children’s Fishing Derby at Cama Beach State Park. It’s a catch-and-release event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kids are encouraged to bring their own poles and fish free. Prizes will be awarded in four age groups.
Volunteers will be on hand to discuss being good stewards of the land.
Cama Beach State Park, 1880 SW Camano Drive, Camano Island, opened June 21. It has more than a mile of beachfront. For more information, call 360-387-9361.
