Free ice cream … but you have to drive to Seattle or Kirkland

Once a year Ben and Jerry’s gives away free scoops.

From noon until 8 p.m. tonight you can head to scoop shops in Seattle or Kirkland to get your favorite flavor of the summer treat.

At least it’s not raining, right?

Given nearly $4-a-gallon gas and the 30 mile drive, you might be better off paying for a pint at the grocery store, but free is free and ice is fun.
