With students still on vacation, the hunt for post-holiday fun begins. Options include movies, stage fun and indoor beach days, most of which are free.
Sno-Isle and Everett libraries will offer movie matinees as follows:
See www.sno-isle.org and www.epls.org.
Last Leaf Productions’ “The Tiger, the Rabbit and the Rescue of Spring” will entertain kids at 2 p.m. today at the Darrington Library, 1005 Cascade St., and at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Marysville Library, 6120 Grove St. Call 360-436-1600 and 360-658-5000 respectively.
For more stage fun, Village Theatre camps at Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave., welcome those who’d rather create the drama. Get details and register at 425-257-6371 and www.villagetheatre.org.
“The Business of Show Business” runs 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today, for eighth- through 12th-graders — ask whether spots remain.
In “Business,” a panel of directors, managers and actors will share tips for finding — and landing — the right roles, among other things.
An “Ensemble Audition Prep” workshop, for fourth- through eighth-graders, runs 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Students will hone audition skills and create their own two-minute performances. Tuition is $75 for “Business” and $125 for “Ensemble.”
Finally, to be part of a “Sunsational Celebration,” visit the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave., at 2 p.m. Wednesday for hula dancing, beach stories and an “ocean” craft. Call 360-568-5000 for details.
The celebration, for school-age kids, is at the Granite Falls Library, 815 E. Galena St., at 11 a.m. Thursday; call 360-691-6087.
