We asked readers to tell us what they love about their moms. Kids from 17 to well over 70 entered The Herald’s Mother’s Day contest. The winner received a $100 gift card to Renee’s Contemporary Clothing in Everett. But there were many other heartfelt stories. You can find all of them here.

I wish I could truly capture and put into words what I love most about my mom.
My mom is one of the most gracious, self-sacrificing human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She is truly selfless, humble and kind. She gives so much of herself to those around her while never expecting anything in return. She always seeks to see the good in others, especially those who may not be able to see the good within themselves. Those who know her know how much this is true.
I am so proud to call her my mother and my friend. It is because of her unconditional love and never-ending support throughout my life that I am the person I am today. I owe my life to her. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! Thank you for always being unapologetically you! I love you forever!
