Monkeynauts.
That’s what fans of Seattle’s own Recess Monkey are called.
The band’s three musicians are elementary school teachers and their music is geared for children.
Don’t be fooled or put off. Recess Monkey is pure fun and gr
eat music.
OK, the lyrics may not be profound but it’s hard not to like these tunes.
As part of the celebration of their latest album, “Flying,” the band is hosting a huge daytime concert at the Moore. The album will be available for purchase six weeks before it goes on sale elsewhere.
The entire show is going to be filmed in HD and they’ll be joined by another Pacific Northwest kid-friendly rocker, Johnny Bregar.
Bregar has been making music for years and turned to children’s tunes after the birth of his son.
This is what happens when folk rockers grow up. Ain’t it great?

Now that Britain’s Prince William is spoken for, there’s another single British heartthrob that young damsels can pine for.
Singer and songwriter James Blunt blends folk and pop in a way that’s had him selling records in the millions. His good looks match his swooning voice.
He broke onto the music scene in 2005 and last year released his third chart-topping album, “Some Kind of Trouble.”
The British tabloids make a lot of his personal life and single status. We can pass on all that and just enjoy his music.
