What will you find at Money Creek? Probably not money, but you may turn up some prizes, so pack up the family and head for the mountains for a guided geocaching tour Saturday night.
The Snoqualmie Ranger District offers an introduction to geocaching using navigational techniques, including some ranger lore about the forest’s ecosystem beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday night at Money Creek Campground.
Meet at the east entrance to Money Creek Campground on Old Cascade Highway at Milepost 46 off U.S. 2 in Skykomish. A $5 donation is suggested.
The talk and walk is part of the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest series of summer campground talks at 7 p.m. Saturdays through Sept. 1 at Money Creek or Beckler River campgrounds.
Upcoming classes include “Become a Junior Forest Ranger” (July 28), “The Ultimate in Leave No Trace” (Aug. 4), “Be Bear Aware” (Aug. 11), “The Railroad History of Stevens Pass” (Aug. 18), “Become a Junior Forest Ranger” (Aug. 25) and “Gold Panning Nuggets of Knowledge” (Sept. 1).
For more information contact the Skykomish Ranger District at 360-677-2414 or check the Forest Service website at www.fs.gov and select “Mt.Baker-Snoqualmie Forest.”
