Brazilian jazz with Dmitri Matheny and John Stowell: Flugelhorn player Matheny and guitarist Stowell form the duo Beleza, which takes its name from the Portuguese word for “beauty.” Beleza is also Brazilian street slang for “yes” or “it’s a deal.” They’ll play bossa nova, samba, and the timeless music of Brazilian icon Antônio Carlos Jobim (1927-1994). 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at 1211 4th St., Snohomish. Pacifica Chamber Orchestra: The orchestra, led by artistic director Fred Chu, will welcome members of the Seattle Chinese Orchestra for a West-meets-East Sunshine Concert 3 p.m. Feb. 24 at Zion Lutheran Church of Everett, 4634 Alger Ave., Everett. The program will include Serenade No. 2, H216 by Bohuslav Martinu; String Quintet by Imogen Holst; Butterfly Lovers Concerto for Erhu by Chen Gang, He Zanhao; Warren Chang, Erhu soloist; traditional Chinese music performed with Chinese instruments; and a special combined performance by both orchestras. Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts: The theater’s 2023-2024 season is celebrating Shakespeare. It will continue with ““The Complete Works of William Shakespeare [abridged] [revised] [again],” in which three actor present all 37 of The Bard’s plays, March 1-17; “Into the Breeches,” a WWII-set story in which a group of women on the home front stage “Henry V,” April 12-28; and the musical version of “Twelfth Night,” May 24-June 9. Schack Art Center: The Schack Art Center in Everett will kick off its 50th anniversary with “Dipped in Paint: A Painted Legacy,” featuring the artwork of Vincent Keele. His work is characterized by bold use of colors and rhythmic patterns that collide through thoughtful processes, allowing the viewer to find emotional connections along the way, a Schack announcement states. The exhibit runs through Feb. 17 at the Schack, 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett.

Cascadia Art Museum: “Full Light and Perfect Shadow: The Photography of Chao-Chen Yang,” features the work of an important Seattle photographer who main national prominence in the mid-20th century, though Feb. 11; “Early Northwest Artists in France,” which illustrates the activities of Northwest artists living, visiting and studying in France in the first half of the 20th century, through Feb. 11.
