Visitors to the Edmonds Museum on Saturday will get a rare glimpse into the world of award-winning potter Sam Scott while he demonstrates his craft of changing clay into beautiful pots and pieces of art.
Scott will be at the wheel from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the museum, 118 Fifth Ave. N., Edmonds. The suggested admission is $2 for adults and $1 for students. The museum-sponsored summer market also will be in full swing.
Scott has been at his craft for more than 30 years. His work has been on display at the museum since May 12 as part of an exhibit celebrating 50 years of the Edmonds Arts Festival. That exhibit runs through Sept. 1.
Five at five: The Snohomish Artists Studio Group which includes five local artists – Patricia Seggebruch, Janet Wold, Sue Robertson, Wendy Lee Lynds and Karon Leigh – are opening a studio for visitors to come and sneak a peak at recent works and possibly snap up some new pieces in encaustic, water-media, collage, printmaking and metal.
The open studio and sale is set to begin at 5 tonight at Seggebruch’s studio, 7726 137th Ave. SE, Snohomish. Another show and sale is planned for Oct. 12.
