50 YEARS AGO (1960)
Everett Police Chief George Nelson confirmed the appointments of two new men to the Everett Police Department. They were Dale R. Pope and Howard H. Thompson, both fifth-class patrolmen.
Catherine “Sunny” Bratt and James Hascal, the Exchange Club’s girl and boy of the month, were pictured with Robert Groeschell, assistant school superintendent, and club member E.D. Howard. Bratt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Bratt, was active in the Girls Club cabinet at Everett High School. Hascal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Hascal, was student body president at North Junior High School.
25 YEARS AGO (1985)
Downtown Everett business people were to circulate a petition calling for increased police patrols in the area. Terry Fieck of Terry L. Fieck Furs said about 40 persons who attended a meeting agreed on the matter.
Brian Moore, a member of Everett High School’s class of 1963, was named vice president for planning and research at Reliance Corporate Services Inc. in Philadelphia. Moore was now responsible for researching special projects relating to the company’s insurance operation.
