Cotton Patch Gospel: Red Curtain Foundation and Allen Creek Community Church present a bluegrass-style retelling of the Book of Matthew in a musical play with a Southern accent. The show runs one weekend only, August 7 through 10, at the church, 7314 44th Ave NE, Marysville. Performances are 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, with a special 10:30 a.m. Sunday matinee.

The show, directed by Brian Kesler and Stuart Hunt, is the first community theater production in Marysville in many years, said Red Curtain president Scott Randall. Ticket are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, students and military personnel, and o$5 for kids 12 and younger. Seattle

“The Book of Mormon”: The award-winning musical is back in Seattle through Aug. 10 at the Paramount. Tickets are available online at stgpresents.org or by calling 877-784-4849. Back by popular demand, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, making a limited number of tickets available at $25 apiece. Entries will be accepted at the box office beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance; each person will print their name and the number of tickets (1 or 2) they wish to purchase on a card that is provided. Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets priced at $25 each. Only one entry is allowed per person. Cards are checked for duplication prior to drawing. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing and show valid ID to purchase tickets. Limit one entry per person and two tickets per winner. Tickets are subject to availability.

Driftwood auditions: The Edmonds Driftwood Players announce auditions for the Theatre of Intriguing Possibilities’ production of “Other People’s Money” directed by Ted Jaquith and playing Oct. 16 through 19 at the Wade James Theatre. Auditions are 3 p.m. Aug. 17 and 7 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Driftwood administration office, 306 Main St., Edmonds. Needed are two women, age 30 or so and 6o or so, and three men, ages 40 through 60s.
