Pacific Northwest Ballet: The company raises the velvet curtain on its 2014-2015 season with George Balanchine’s “Jewels.” Costumed in emerald green, ruby red and luminous white, the trio of gems pays tribute to golden ages of music and dance. “Jewels” runs from Sept. 26 through Oct. 5 at Seattle Center’s Marion Oliver McCaw Hall. Neil Simon’s “Rumors”: Phoenix Theatre presents the comedy Aug. 29 through Sept. 21. Four couples show up at the home of the deputy mayor of New York and his wife for their 10th wedding anniversary party. However, the host has shot himself in the ear lobe and his wife is missing.
