The David Grisman Quintet will play a benefit for Parkview Services at the Edmonds Center for the Arts at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Grisman, a mandolinist, began his career in 1963 as a folk and bluegrass musician. Over the years, however, his sound expanded into areas such as jazz and country rock, eventually creating the genre of newgrass.
Proceeds from his show will benefit Parkview Services, a nonprofit agency that provides affordable housing and other aid to the developmentally disabled.
Tickets are $45 to $125 and can be purchased at brownpapertickets.com. For more information, go to www.ec4arts.org or call 425-299-6020.
The arts center is at 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds.
