Videos: The White Stripes on "So You Think You Can Dance"

It’s Jack White day here at Pop Secrets.
The Nashville-by-way-of-Detroit singer has been popping up all over the place. I blame the fact that he’s in something like 37 bands at this point.
White doesn’t exactly showcase his wide range with all those projects. The guy is like the opposite of a chameleon: Whatever group he’s in ends up sounding like the Jack White Band. Such is the case with his latest group, the Dead Weather.
Even though Alison Mosshart sings lead in the garage blues outfit, the group still bears White’s imprint all over the place. He sings occassionally, and also plays drums in the group, which is on his new label, Third Man Records .
Check out the first video from the Dead Weather below, along with some other treats.
The White Stripes — “Seven Nation Army”— “So You Think You Can Dance”
Jonathan Glazer directed this stylish, violent clip, which finds White and Mosshart unloading a couple clips of ammunition at each other. The bullets go right through the two leather-clad singers. Is it because they’re zombies? If so, someone should tell them: You gotta shoot for the head.
The White Stripes — “Seven Nation Army”— “So You Think You Can Dance”
White doesn’t actually appear in this clip. Instead, the cast of “So You Think You Can Dance” kicked off an episode with some choreographed moves to one of his White Stripes’ songs, the heavy beat of “Seven Nation Army.” (For some reason, the cast dressed in military garb. Very confusing. I can’t figure it out.)
Grizzly Bear — “All We Ask” — Live
OK, so this video has nothing to do with Jack White. I just like the song. The album version of this “Veckatimest” track delivers more of a quiet-LOUD punch, but the group’s live performance showcases Grizzly Bear’s supernatural strength at harmonizing. (Watch your back, Fleet Foxes.)
