The current exhibit at the Schack,“Vibrant Matter,” features the Schack’s 2015 Artists of the Year, photographer James Arrabito and sculptor Verena Schwippert. Arrabito and Schwippert plan to be at the Schack to talk about their works from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Sept. 13. The show ends Sept. 19. The Schack invites the public to watch Italian glass artist Lino Tagliapietra work in the glassblowing studio from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 11. This year’s Schacktoberfest is Sept. 24 through 27. Art in the Park: Arlington Arts Council presents its annual event 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 12 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 13 in Legion Park, Olympic Avenue, downtown. See fine arts and crafts, youth art and live entertainment. More at www.arlingtonartscouncil.net.

Photomarathon: Edmonds Rotary Club offers this photo contest with a twist. Register for $25 at 9 a.m. Sept. 12 at RBC Wealth Management office, 303 Fifth Ave. S., Edmonds. Contest topics announced at 10 a.m. Photogs have six hours to make six photos on six topics, all in Edmonds. All digital event; smart phone cameras OK. Edmonds Art Studio Tour: This self-guided, free, 10th annual tour is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 19 and 20. More than 40 artists at 25 studios throughout Edmonds are participating. For more information, go to www.edmondsartstudiotour.com.

“Around the World” Art in the Park: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 19 at Lowell Riverfront Park, Everett. Individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to create and experience a free fun-filled day with arts and crafts from Africa, France, the Orient, Mexico and the Pacific Northwest. A scavenger hunt, face painting, pinata, local entertainment, food vendors and featured artists are involved. Sponsored by All Aboard, a nonprofit located in Everett, the event benefits the organization’s scholarship fund.

“Arts of the Terrace”: The 37th annual Arts of the Terrace free art show is set for Sept. 26 through Oct. 11 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W. Sponsored by the Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission and the Friends of the Arts, the exhibit is one of the major juried art shows held in the region.

Previously Loved Art Sale: The 12th annual sale is 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3, at ArtWorks, Second and Dayton, downtown Edmonds. Find paintings, drawings, sculpture, art posters, crafts, art books and periodicals and art supplies. Also, it’s not too late to donate your previously loved art for the sale.
