15-year sentence in Spokane baby killing

SPOKANE — A man convicted of beating his girlfriend’s 7-month-old baby to death was sentenced Monday in Spokane to 15 years in prison.

The 24-year-old, Jereme J. Bassett, pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder in a deal with prosecutors.

The Spokesman-Review says he’ll get credit for the two years he’s spent behind bars since the death.
