Air Force Airman Joshua P. Hurley has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Hurley is the son of William and Sandra Hurley of Lynnwood. He is a 2003 graduate of Meadowdale High School.
Air Force Airman Steven R. Russell has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Russell is the son of Robyn Price of Everett. He is a 2005 graduate of Stanwood High School.
Air Force Senior Airman Andrew P. Baker has returned to the United States after being deployed to an overseas forward operating location in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He is a member of the 43rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Pope Air Force Base, Fayetteville, N.C. Baker is a flying crew chief with three years of military service. He is the son of Chet and Janell Baker of Coupeville. He is a 1999 graduate of Coupeville High School.
Air Force Senior Airman David M. Whetstone is currently deployed overseas at a forward operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The airman, an explosive ordnance disposal journeyman, is the son of Arthur Whetstone of Marysville and Susan Walker of Glendale, Ariz.
Army Pvt. Justin L. Lampkin has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Tina Lampkin of Bakersfield, Calif. His stepmother, Connie Rose, lives in Greenbank. He is a 2003 graduate of South Whidbey High School.
Navy Seaman Caitlin J. Rider, the daughter of Jennifer Skiff and stepdaughter of Bradley Skiff of Oak Harbor, recently completed basic training and was meritoriously promoted to her current rank at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Rider is a 2005 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
Navy Seaman Apprentice Marcus C. Duck, the son of Edna Kent of Philadelphia and Randy Duck of Arlington, recently completed basic training and was meritoriously promoted to his current rank at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Duck is a 2005 graduate of Lakewood High School.
Navy Hospitalman Maria P. Ayala, a 2002 graduate of Oak Harbor High School, and her fellow shipmates returned to sea after a two-month long in-port period while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk, forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan. Ayala joined the Navy in February 2003.
