Active Duty: News of county residents in the military

Army National Guard Lt. Col. Cynthia Millonzi, formerly of Camano Island, has been selected to serve in a leadership position as director of manpower under Maj. Gen. John Nichols at Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas. She is experienced in personnel and human resources. She served in the Army from 1984-88, some of which was at Fort Lewis in Tacoma. Millonzi attended officer training school and earned her National Guard commission at Camp Murray, Tacoma. She served there until her transfer to Camp Mabry. She served in Iraq in 2003-04. Millonzi is the daughter of Sue and Chuck Millonzi of Camano Island. She attended the University of California at Long Beach and graduated from the University of Southern Illinois at Carbondale.

Navy Seaman Andrew P. Swain, son of Paul Swain of Oak Harbor, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Swain is a 2010 graduate of Wawasee High School of Syracuse, Ind.
