EVERETT — Police have arrested a boy on suspicion he stabbed another boy Tuesday at Lions Park in Everett.
Around 1:30 a.m., the wounded boy banged on the door of a neighbor of Lions Park, 7530 Cascade Dr., to report he’d been stabbed, according to Everett police. He appeared to have “significant injuries,” police said.
The resident called 911. Paramedics took the boy to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
He suffered serious injuries that required emergency surgery, officer Natalie Given said.
Investigators deployed a police dog and drone to search for the suspect. By 7 a.m., police had cleared the park, Given said, but hadn’t found the suspect.
Just before 3 a.m. Wednesday, authorities announced they had arrested a boy in the case for investigation of first-degree assault.
“It is believed the individuals involved are otherwise known to each other,” police wrote in a press release. “The extent of their relationship and circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation.”
