CASA helps 145 pets at microchip event

The Camano Animal Shelter Association added microchip identification to 145 pets at an Oct. 7 event. That included 99 dogs and 46 cats. The service was free for the special event, but low-cost microchip service (at $15 per pet) is available at the shelter year-round. Unlike collars and tags, microchips are permanent. If you are unsure if your pet already has a microchip, CASA staff can scan the animal to find out. For more information, call 360-387-1902.
