Comcast employees help shelter

More than 400 volunteers turned out for Comcast Cares Day on April 21 to perform a variety of service projects in the Everett area. The biggest work site was the Interfaith Association of Northwest Washington family shelter, where about 250 volunteers cleaned and reorganized the kitchen, pantry and storage areas; painted common areas; added landscaping; built a fence and raised garden beds; weeded and added new soil; spread gravel on walking paths; installed a bike rack; and more.
Children of employees helped out, too, by painting birdhouses and making concrete stepping stones for the gardens.
Other project sites included local parks and the food bank.
