SKYKOMISH — Three people, including an Everett man, were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after a head-on vehicle collision that closed U.S. 2 near Skykomish for hours.
The man, 69, was driving east around 1:11 p.m. when the Mercedes-Benz SUV he was driving crossed the center line, according to the Washington State Patrol. It struck a Ford F-350 heading west.
The Everett man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle..
The other two people from Olathe, Kansas, were taken to EvergreenHealth Monroe.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected as factors in the crash, according to the state patrol.
The highway was closed for almost three hours before one lane was opened. Both were opened by 9 p.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
On US 2 eastbound & westbound just east of 766th Ave NE there is a collision blocking all lanes.
