Friends and family of Henry Faison gathered Wednesday night on Alki Beach in West Seattle to release lanterns in his memory.

Faison, who was a Meadowdale High School graduate, was shot in 2009 at his home in Bothell. He was paralyzed from the neck down and died six years later due to complications from his injuries.

Every summer for his birthday, Faison’s family hosts a gathering to remember him, often at Lighthouse Park in Mukilteo. His death has been ruled a homicide.

The case is unsolved, and Bothell police welcome tips.
