Fair focuses on health and safety

The Lake Stevens Fire District along with the Lake Stevens Police plan to host a free Health and Safety Fair on Saturday.

Dozens of booths and activities are set to promote community and personal safety and health in the parking lot of Albertsons at 303 91st Ave. NE. A bully prevention presentation is set from 10 to 11 a.m., and musician Diana Ruiz is planning to perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Lake Stevens Family Center booth is set to accept general office supply donations during the fair.

Celebrate your libraries! All 21 Sno-Isle Libraries branches will offer open houses this year in celebration of the library system’s 50th anniversary. The Mountlake Terrace Library will have its open house Saturday in conjunction with its annual book sale.

The open house will be 10 a.m. to noon. The used book sale will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Book sale funds support programs and classes at the library.

Other highlights of the day’s celebration include book talks, drawings for free books and a preview of the Mountlake Terrace Library Time Capsule.

Input from the community on what should go into the time capsule is highly encouraged. There will be light refreshments.

This event is hosted by the Friends of the Mountlake Terrace Library and the Mountlake Terrace Library Board.

The Mountlake Terrace Library is located at 23300 58th Ave. W. For more information, call 425-776-8722.

First up is “The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake” on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at 23300 58th Ave. W, Mountlake Terrace.
