Idaho man gets at least 15 years for 14th DUI

BOISE, Idaho — A 55-year-old Boise man has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for his 14th conviction of driving under the influence.

Terry Ash was sentenced Tuesday by 4th District Judge Patrick Owen, who called Ash a “menace to society.”

Ash’s first DUI conviction came in 1976. Court records indicate he has spent more than a decade in jail for driving drunk.

His most recent DUI charge was filed after police arrested him for crashing his car near Kuna on Sept. 4, 2011.

Ash’s defense attorney has said Ash has a history of psychological problems.
