The Word for today: Postponed.

There’s breaking real news about the fake news punditry show “The Colbert Report,” as U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen’s scheduled appearance tonight has been rescheduled.

The Washington Democrat’s office told The Herald on Wednesday that producers lost the edited tape of the interview.

No, really. They lost the tape.

A Comedy Central spokeswoman confirmed Wednesday that “technical difficulties” resulted in postponing the segment.

“The Colbert Report” is airing repeats next week, so expect to see the Larsen interview the week of July 10.

Check The Herald’s FYI column on Page B1 for further updates as this story unfolds.

The glitch is surely causing undue stress for Snohomish County folks who were waiting to catch their congressman on television.

We’re not happy about that.

“Colbert Report,” you’re on notice.
