A two-car crash shut down Highway 92 in Lake Stevens for more than three hours Saturday.
About 10 a.m., a Lexis rear-ended an SUV that was turning left from Highway 92 onto 127th Ave. NE, said Perry Putnam, a battalion chief with Snohomish County Fire District 8 in Lake Stevens.
The driver of the Lexis, a 24-year-old Snohomish woman, was trapped in her car with critical injuries, Putnam said. Rescue workers cut her out and drove her to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the Colby Campus of Providence Everett Medical Center for evaluation, Putnam said.
There were no passengers in either car.
All lanes of Highway 92 were closed while members of the State Patrol, Lake Stevens Police and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office investigated.
The investigation is ongoing, Putnam said.
