LYNNWOOD — An 80-year-old pedestrian who was killed Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run near Lynnwood has been identified.
Jung K. Moon, of Lynnwood, was walking on the sidewalk near the intersection of 158th Street SW and 35th Avenue W when a Chevrolet pickup truck swerved, jumped the curb and hit him.
The driver, a 53-year-old Lynnwood man, allegedly didn’t stop to check on Moon, who died at the scene. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed on Friday that Moon died from blunt-force injuries caused by the crash.
Sheriff’s deputies found the pickup truck less than three miles away. The suspect was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide, DUI and hit-and-run. After conducting field sobriety tests, deputies believe he had been using marijuana.
The suspect was in custody at the Snohomish County Jail on Friday, with bail set at $250,000.
