Man critically wounded in south Seattle shooting

SEATTLE — A man was shot and critically wounded Friday afternoon in south Seattle near Franklin High School.

Fire Department medics rushed him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with a chest wound described as life-threatening. The victim appears to be 18 to 20 years old.

Police said they are looking for a 15- to 16-year-old suspect wearing a blue jacket and backpack.

Witnesses called 911 about 12:20 p.m. and reported hearing a half-dozen gunshots and finding the victim on the ground.
