Man killed when tractor rolls over him in Monroe

MONROE – A man was killed Wednesday when a tractor rolled over him while he trying to pull a tree stump, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The man’s name and age were not available. He died at the scene in the 10400 block of 176th Avenue SE, sheriff’s deputy Dave Hayes said.

His 14-year-son was nearby when the accident occurred, Hayes said.

Everett: Two men arrested in robbery

Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies tracked down two men in connection with a burglary that was interrupted by the homeowner on Wednesday.

A woman arrived at her house in the 14300 block of Meridian Place to find two men running out the back door, sheriff’s deputy Dave Hayes said.

A passerby told deputies that he’d just given a ride to two suspicious men to the Puget Park Drive-In. Deputies spotted the men near the location. After a short chase, the men were arrested.

Deputies found property believed to be stolen in the burglary.

Man arrested after reportedly waving gun

Police arrested a 19-year-old man for investigation of assault Wednesday after he brandished a small handgun during a confrontation behind Everett High School.

Officers received a report of a man with a gun about 10:38 a.m. in the 2400 block of Wetmore Avenue, Everett Lt. Bill Deckard said. The suspect was gone when police arrived.

Officers learned that two groups of young people had argued, and the man reportedly pulled out a gun. Two of the victims were students at Everett High School.

Police detained six people after locating them at a nearby residence. Officers later arrested the 19-year-old man and found the gun. No one was injured.

“The street officers did some amazing police work,” Deckard said.

Deputies seize suspect meth lab material

Police seized what was believed to be the makings of a methemphatamine lab Wednesday.

Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies stopped a truck in the 11300 block of Fourth Avenue W. Suspicious material was found in the bed of the truck. The Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force was called to the scene. The truck was impounded and detectives were expected to process the suspected lab, task force Sgt. John Flood said.

Mountlake Terrace: Rash of thefts hits cars

Police are advising moviegoers to remove valuable items from their vehicles after a rash of car prowls at the Mountlake 9 Cinema.

Three to four cars a day have been broken into since Saturday in the movie parking lot in the 6000 block of 244th Street SW.

Thieves are taking everything from cell phones to sunglasses, police said.
