Officer shoots person in Edmonds after domestic violence call

EDMONDS — A police officer shot someone at a motel on Highway 99 around noon Friday.

Officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 22100 block of Highway 99, according to Edmonds police.

The call turned into an “officer-involved shooting,” Edmonds Acting Assistant Police Chief Josh McClure said.

The wounded person was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. All officers were OK, according to Edmonds police.

The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team was deployed to investigate. SMART is a task force of detectives assigned to look into police use of potentially fatal force.

A large police response affected traffic on Highway 99.
