Pioneer Highway temporarily closed to southbound traffic

STANWOOD — Pioneer Highway is closed to all southbound traffic from Logan Road to Douglas Creek until repairs can be made to the roadway.

Erosion from a recent storm has undermined the southbound lane, Stanwood city spokeswoman Melissa Collins said.

The city plans to work with emergency construction crews to restore traffic as soon as possible, Collins said.

A temporary detour follows Old Pacific Highway just north of 300th Street NW. Drivers then can return to Pioneeer Highway at 268th Street NW.
