MUKILTEO — A woman suffered life-threatening injuries and her estranged husband died in an apparent attempted murder-suicide early Friday south of Mukilteo, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman, 48, arrived home just after midnight at an apartment complex in the 12900 block of Mukilteo Speedway. As she walked to her apartment, a gunman shot her in the torso, then shot himself.
The alleged suspect, 64, of California, was found dead at the scene. He suffered a single gunshot to the head.
The woman was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will confirm the cause and manner of death, as well as the identity of the deceased.
