LAKE STEVENS — A fire in two portable toilets behind the Lake Stevens Boys & Girls Club got into an overhang and the eaves of the club’s building Monday afternoon.
The incident was reported around 2:30 p.m. by a 911 caller.
Fire crews arrived to find the portable toilets in flames. Sprinklers inside a storage room in the building kept the blaze from spreading.
“A quick knock down from Lake Stevens Fire Engine 81 and mutual aid partners successfully suppressed the fire within 30 minutes,” Snohomish County Fire District 8 reported in a press release.
The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
Cause of the fire is under investigation by the district’s fire marshal and the Lake Stevens Police Department.
