50 years ago (1955)

Andrea Kent was elected president of True Bluebirds. Other new officers were Jean Bellus, Mary Nilson, Susan Smith, Carolee Larson, Susan Ray, Leslie Mincks, Jane Bratt and Susan Goodrich. The girls also received ribbon honors for mint sales.

25 years ago (1980)

Candidates for dairy princess and their mothers were meeting at the Lakewood home of Wanda Stach. The meeting was sponsored by Snohomish County Dairy Wives. Candidates had to be high school juniors or seniors and live or work on a dairy farm.

Edmonds Unitarian Church was having a concert to raise funds for Stop Abuse, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. Stonehouse, a contemporary band, and folk duo D’eimon and Gallager would perform at the church. Tickets were $3. Susan Aldrich was the contact person.
