GRANITE FALLS — Cars, trucks, and motorcycles will be on display Saturday at the annual Show-n-Shine car and motorcycle show.
This year marks the 30th year of the event, which is always the first Saturday in August.
The show is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside Granite Falls City Hall at 206 S. Granite Ave.
Event coordinator Sam Walker said he and his wife, LeeAnna, have worked to make this year’s event family friendly.
The car show will feature 16 classes, local vendors, music, food, prizes and bouncy houses for children.
Show-n-Shine brings hundreds of people to the city every year, he said.
Last year’s event featured 150 entries. By Thursday morning, Walker had received registration forms for 24 show entrants. He expects more car enthusiasts to register their vehicles beginning at 7 a.m. the day of the show. The $20 registration fee goes toward scholarships for Granite Falls High School students.
A People’s Choice category where spectators can vote for their favorite vehicle is new to this year’s show. Trophies for the People’s Choice, Best in Show, and first, second, and third place awards in each class are planned to be presented from 3 to 4 p.m.
“(Show-n-Shine) is fun to me just because I get to meet different people,” Walker said.
“I like to look at all the cars and make sure everybody’s having a good time.”
