STANWOOD — A 74-year-old woman died following a three-car crash Saturday in Stanwood.
The woman was driving east on Highway 532 around noon when her vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, just east of the bridge to Camano Island, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. Her car struck the side of one vehicle, then head-on into another westbound vehicle.
An ambulance rushed the woman from the scene, but she died shortly afterward, the sheriff’s office reported.
The other two drivers, also women, ages 42 and 39, were taken to a local hospital, with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation Monday. Detectives do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors.
The deceased woman’s name, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be confirmed by the Skagit County Coroner’s Office.
